Yup, its me again. Dusting off this account, and will attempt to keep some current info on here.
What have i been up to?
Work = Still with the County, doing the same stuff as before.
Side stuff = Volunteer with OES, using my ham radio skills & keeping people safe
= Attending Foothill College, going for my certificate in GIS
= Brewing Beer & Mead
= Camping / Fishing (not as much as i'd like)
= Traveling, mostly to BrewFests
= Taking photos
Personal = Still living with my schweetie in RWC. Working out very well for us.
= Location is close to 280, and good for both of our commutes
As i look at the above list, some of the side stuff are things which i've wanted to get involved with for a while, but never really took control of the reigns and did it. Things like helping out with the Sheriffs/OES, and going back to school, for the certificate. Last year was when i started out with OES, and i like it more & more. Callouts, to helping out with events.... its a nice side distraction, and everyone there are a great bunch of folks. School is a decision i made over some time. I know that i don't want to keep doing what i am doing at the county forever. There are quite a few different departments i'd love to redirect my career into, and by going back to school will help me achieve that.
A word on Brewing/Mead-ing: Is something i will never give up. I recently shared a bottle with some friends, and the sight of them going "wow!" just brings a smile to my face, and warm & fuzzies to the soul. The last batch was something a lil special... i brewed it for my b-day, and had help from my schweetie & the neighbors. It was one of my standard recipes, with some slight variation due to grain/hop availability. Soon, i foresee some other fun batches to whip up.=) For mead-making, I picked up a wine corker so i can now use my mad stash of vino bottles for meadly-meadly-meadly mead.
